Hazel Fox lives at Strathewen at the foot of Mt. Sugarloaf. On February 7th 2009 the Kinglake bushfire devastated her farm which she had been nurturing down the path of sustainability for the past 9 years. However as they say ‘every cloud has a silver lining’ and the story to follow shows just that.
After the fires had swept through. Hazel experienced the amazing goodness of both the local and wider communities. She said the amount of support that she received was overwhelming and wonderful. Amongst those supporting the
bushfire affected properties and their animals was local vet Dr. Sandy Cornell who supported Hazel in the months that followed.
Peter Andrews was another who offered his help and visited the area to talk with the farmers. Both Hazel and Sandy shared an interest in Peter’s work and were keen to ‘give it a go’. So Hazel called Peter and asked for his help which resulted in Peter‘s visit and we see the early results of the implementation of his work.
Hazel is now actively working with Sandy to promote Peter’s work in Australia.
