Soil Superheroes in the Making! Empowering Schools to Lead the Soil Revolution
Driven by her deep passion for helping children understand the importance of soil, Bev Middleton launched a nationwide schools competition four years ago—and it’s been growing ever since. The goal? To inspire a generation of young “Soil Superheroes” who recognise the vital role soil plays in our food systems, our environment, and our climate.
In this engaging webinar, Bev walks us through the story of the competition via a PowerPoint presentation, showcasing how students are learning about soil through art, science, storytelling, and hands-on experiments. The initiative has reached more than 10,000 students across Australia—sparking curiosity, creativity, and a real appreciation for the life beneath our feet.
You’ll get a chance to witness the incredible range of student responses and the excitement it has generated in classrooms across the country. One standout moment: we’re thrilled to share Louie’s passionate video entry, generously permitted for viewing. We think you’ll agree—he truly embodied the spirit of a Soil Superhero!
