Bruce and Heidi Davison live at Candelo in Southeast NSW and were recent winners of the prestigious GAIA award 2012. So after the award night we went to catch up and see what improvements had been made since our last
visit.

When we arrived Bruce and Heidi were very excited to tell us of their plans to use the award money in promoting their new project “Running the Farm Up”

As we walked and talked with Bruce and Heidi you will notice the increased fertility which is being achieved through grazing management and the application of his home made fertilisers.

This time Bruce has diversified his compost making and he showed us his static pile and talked of how he brews his compost teas.

It was satisfying to see the brew under the micro-scope, a necessary tool for home compost makers and brewers.

A further delight was walking amongst Heidi’s self seeding, low maintenance and productive veggie garden.
