Lyn opens up the 2nd session with an introduction to The Green Cocky philosophy and an overview of the Soil Food Web. Lyn has seen the result of unsustainable farming practices and is passionate now about sharing her experience with other farmers. Her intention is to invite farmers to her farm for field days where she has taken a biological approach to facilitate healthy pasture growth and sustainable farming practices.
This video shows the farm walk following the morning presentation by Graeme Hand. You will see a working transition to holistic management and biological farming.
The walk starts in Lyn’s worst paddock which is compacted and lacks ground cover hence the start of Graeme’s explanations for corrective action.
As Lyn takes us around the paddocks Graeme discusses the stages of pasture recovery. He also discusses the health of the cattle and how to read the health by observation – including by the cow pats!
It is a very encouraging experience to see how Lyn’s steady application of biological applications is stimulating the fungi to build a healthy land.
