Old Chinese Secret: The Ice Cube Cure For Mind and Body

We all want to live longer. But we also want to look and feel young while we do it. To achieve this, we of course must eat right, stay active and keep our minds sharp. However, it turns out that a few moments with an ice cube on the back of your neck can also help. The point in the middle of the back of your neck, close to the hairline, is called in Chinese medicine “Feng Fu”, and it is the pressure point found at the base of the skull.

If you put an ice cube on that spot, beyond the momentary relief from this summer heat, you’ll awaken your body’s balancing force and even discover your joy and energy levels increasing. Keep reading and learn the advantages of this method and the way to apply it.

Lie on your stomach and put an ice cube on the feng fu pressure point. Leave it there for 20 minutes (you may need a towel to keep it in place). Do this on an empty stomach, regularly, with a 2-3 day breaks, morning and night before going to bed. Within a few days you should feel:
    • An elevation in your mood
    • Relief from headaches
    • Better breathing
    • A higher quality of sleep
    • Improved digestion
    • Relief from cold symptoms
    • Relief from tooth pain
    • More energy and alertness
    • Fight problems with your parathyroid gland

Now, this may feel a bit cold and uncomfortable at first, but after 30 seconds you’ll start feeling heat on that spot. The first few days will give you a euphoric and happy feeling as endorphins are released into your system.

According to Chinese medicine, the Feng Fu point is not a healing pressure point, it is, in fact, a pressure point that returns the body to its natural physiological state, so external factors that influence your health
and your bodily processes may be neutralized by treating this point.

Modern medicine explains these effects by pointing out that the Feng Fu point is very close to our brain stem, and that is why it is not recommended for pregnant women, people with Schizophrenia or people with pacemakers.

Try it yourselves when you are suffering from pain, feeling very tired or are just feeling out of sorts and out of balance with your body. It’s also a good way to stay cool this summer!
